Lilith in Taurus is the instinct for comfort, pleasure, and enough that got labeled greedy, lazy, or too much. In a birth chart it shows where you learned to feel guilty about wanting physical security, money, rest, or touch, and where reclaiming those wants builds self-worth that does not depend on how productive you are.
Is Lilith in Taurus right now?
No. Mean Lilith entered Capricorn on September 16, 2026 and stays there until mid-June 2027. Taurus comes around once every 8.85 years, because that is how long the Moon's apogee takes to circle the zodiac (Augurine). It spends roughly nine months in each sign.
Here are the Taurus windows from the 1980s to 2030, using mean Lilith, with the age of anyone born in that window today:
| Mean Lilith in Taurus | Age in October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Jun 2, 1985 - Feb 27, 1986 | 40-41 |
| Apr 8, 1994 - Jan 2, 1995 | 31-32 |
| Feb 11, 2003 - Nov 8, 2003 | 22-23 |
| Dec 18, 2011 - Sep 12, 2012 | 14 |
| Oct 22, 2020 - Jul 18, 2021 | 5 |
| Aug 28, 2029 - May 24, 2030 | not born yet |
We calculated these from the standard mean lunar apogee formula in Jean Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms. The 2020-2021 row matches the dates in Sky Lore Astrology's post, written when Lilith entered Taurus (October 22, 2020 to July 18, 2021). Dates are in UTC and can shift by a day in your time zone. If your birthday sits near an edge, check your chart.
What Black Moon Lilith is
Lilith is not a planet. It is a calculated point: the spot in the Moon's orbit farthest from Earth, the empty focus of the ellipse (Augurine). The astrological Lilith goes back to Sepharial in 1918, so it is a modern tool rather than an ancient one. Our Lilith page has the short version.
Two versions are in use. Mean Lilith is the smoothed average and is what most astrologers mean. True Lilith follows the actual wobble and can sit up to 30 degrees away from the mean one, so it can land in a different sign. This article uses mean Lilith. If you were born near a sign edge, look at both.
The core meaning: appetite that was shamed
Taurus is the sign of the body, money, food, comfort, and slow pleasure. Lilith is whatever got exiled while you were learning to belong. Together they point at one question: what did you learn about wanting enough?
Bonnie Sorsby describes the exile as being around "pleasure, desire, and the body", with shame around sensuality and around wanting physical comfort or material security. The reclaiming move is returning to the body as home, and to pleasure and abundance as something you are allowed to receive. For the placement in the 2nd house, Kerykeion adds the details: guilt about buying something beautiful, eating a luxurious meal, or spending an afternoon doing nothing productive, and money that feels loaded instead of neutral.
Typical patterns:
- Scarcity even when things are fine. You feel insecure about money regardless of the balance.
- Guilt when you rest or enjoy. An inner critic treats pleasure as something you have not earned.
- Swinging between extremes. Chronic under-earning, or collecting things without feeling satisfied (Kerykeion describes both).
- A body you manage instead of live in. Hunger, tiredness, and touch get overruled by "should".
Lilith is not Venus
Taurus is ruled by Venus, and the two get mixed up. Venus in Taurus enjoys. Lilith in Taurus is the part that was told not to. If Venus is how you take pleasure, Lilith is what you were taught to feel about it. That is an interpretive framing, not a traditional rule, but it explains why a person with a lovely Venus can still feel a flinch every time they treat themselves.
The collective side
Sky Lore Astrology wrote that the 2020-2021 stretch of Lilith in Taurus put the spotlight on labor, exploitation, poverty, and ancestral inheritance, and used figures like La Llorona and Rhiannon as examples of women whose pain was recast as a villain's story. You do not need to agree with the myth to use the idea: Taurus Lilith years are the ones where "what is a person worth?" gets asked loudly. The next round, in 2029-2030, will be the same question again.
How the house changes it
- 2nd house (money, values, self-worth): the most direct version, and the one Kerykeion describes. The wound is about whether you deserve to have things. See the 2nd house.
- 6th house (work, routine, health): our reading from the house's meaning: guilt may show up as overwork or as strict self-denial.
- 7th house (partners): again our reading: you may hide how much you want from a partner, or accept unequal money arrangements.
Only the 2nd-house reading comes straight from a source. The others are interpretation, so test them against your own life.
A three-column exercise
This one is ours, based on the "early messages" question Kerykeion suggests. Take a page and make three columns: Money, Pleasure, Body. In each, write the first sentence you remember hearing about it as a child. Then write what you actually do today in the same area.
Most people find that the second column is a reaction to the first. "Money doesn't grow on trees" turns into never buying the good pan. "Don't be greedy" turns into eating alone and fast. The aim is not to blame anyone. It is to see that the rule is borrowed, and decide which parts you keep.
Kerykeion's suggestion for the mature version of this placement is "a stable, internalized sense of personal value that does not fluctuate with external circumstances". One practical step toward it is separating personal value from net worth, and learning the difference between real desire and compensatory buying.
Lilith returns for Taurus natives
If your Lilith is in Taurus, it comes back to your natal degree every 8.85 years: around ages 9, 18, 27, 35, 44, and 53. Those years often reopen the money-and-worth question in a new form, such as first job, first apartment, a promotion, or retirement planning. That is an observation from the cycle length, not a promise. Our birth chart shows your exact degree.

FAQ
What does Lilith in Taurus mean in a birth chart?
It points to a shamed or suppressed relationship with comfort, money, pleasure, and the body. The healing direction is permission: learning that having enough is allowed.
Is Lilith in Taurus good or bad?
Neither. It is a pressure point, not a verdict. Left unexamined it shows up as guilt and scarcity. Worked with, it becomes clearer knowledge of what you value and what you refuse to trade for it.
How is Lilith in Taurus different from Lilith in Scorpio?
Scorpio Lilith is about power, control, and intimacy (see our Lilith in Scorpio guide). Taurus Lilith is about material security and sensual comfort. One asks "who has power over me?", the other asks "may I have what I want?"
How do I know whether my Lilith is in Taurus?
Find your birth date in the table above for mean Lilith, or generate a chart with your time and place. Note that the true Lilith can differ.
When will Lilith be in Taurus again?
From August 28, 2029 to May 24, 2030, mean Lilith.
Wanting enough
Lilith in Taurus is the right to want comfort without proving you earned it. The wound is guilt about enjoying, owning, and resting. The work is to find which of those rules you inherited, and to spend, rest, and eat as someone who is allowed to.
